“This is without a doubt the coolest hotel in the Mediterranean – a skilful balancing act between the simple, the laid-back, the sophisticated and the luxurious.”
This is one of my editing projects that I have done for HIP Hotels Media. Photography and text by Herbert Ypma.
Tucked into the hillside of a small bay in a quiet, untouched corner of the Aegean, Macakizi is an effortlessly hedonistic hideaway. Stone floors, white walls, limed oak furniture, and iconic cushions by Turkish fashion designer Rifat Ozbek, as well as some very individual art, define Macakizi’s very Mediterranean guest rooms. Camouflaged by sensational gardens each of the different levels of the property enjoys a superb view of outlying bays and islands that have made this corner of the Aegean so desirable. This is without a doubt the coolest hotel in the Mediterranean – a skilful balancing act between the simple, the laid-back, the sophisticated and the luxurious.
